Chicago-based project SLEEP OF MIRRORS has released a music video for the song “Not My Skin,” taken from the debut album “Crown” out from May 8th via Negative Gain Productions.

“Not My Skin” features the band's close friend and collaborator Ronnie Canizaro of Born of Osiris, placing his voice in a darker electronic setting built from darkwave, electro, dark techno, and industrial textures.

“Not My Skin” explores identity, disconnection from the body, and the feeling of being shaped by forces outside yourself. The video brings to life that tension through the image of a synthetic body being constructed and the existentialism of existence. Band footage was shot in Chicago by Cornelius Kite and Tom Birch; the video was produced and directed by Christopher Lee.

SLEEP OF MIRRORS is a dark electronic project operating at the intersection of darkwave, electro, and dark techno. Built around dense synthesizer work and vocal-driven atmosphere, the project blends ritualistic repetition with cinematic structure, creating immersive soundscapes shaped by tension, restraint, and mood.

Their debut album, “Crown,” is a ten-track release that unfolds as a cohesive work rather than a collection of singles. Drawing on occult symbolism, religious imagery, and themes of power, devotion, and transformation, the record balances hypnotic rhythm with widescreen composition - equal parts ceremonial and visceral.
